The 1.0.7 ipw2200 drivers have released, including my support for radiotap packet headers.
To turn on radiotap (and therefor per-packet signal level reporting for Kismet), you need
to edit the Makefile and uncomment the line CONFIG_IEEE80211_RADIOTAP=y

You'll want an up-to-date libpcap (0.9.3+) and a modern Kismet (get the latest or get
the stable-devel from svn).
