GPSMap updates
dr
GPSMap now has improved network center guessing, which should have a significant effect for most users.
The old method here used pure averaging across all the sample points - an
admittedly poor way of doing things. The new method here finds the largest
cluster of sample points and treats that as the relevant center of the network before averaging.
Also, the power interpolation system has been completely rewritten. I don't know what I was thinking when
I wrote the old code, but it was completely, totally broken. It made results that looked sort of right,
but the math was totally flawed. The new code makes images MUCH closer to what I expected in the first
place, and is much more graceful about handling bad data. For examples, the old
interpolation code compared to the same data sets with the new code, and with an
alternate color set.
Enjoy.
