GPS coordinates are now tied to packets.  This means almost nothing from the perspective 
of the end user, and a whole lot for the code and future enhancements.  It's still a bit 
quirky in the development tree because the server still relies on the local GPS to feed 
it coordinates for the track, but logs per-packet coordinates for everything else.  
Something will be done.
