|Subject:||Compile problems on macOS 10.12 Sierra|
> Unfortunately, this doesn't surprise me - I don't have access to any modern OSX systems, and I don't believe the OSX capture code has been maintained since around 2008 or so. Since then apple has greatly changed how a lot of things work, so it's unlikely to be usable with a recent OSX system.
> I'm hoping once the new capture system is written in the development code, someone will make a modern OSX capture driver - in the meantime, your best bet is to either dual boot something like pentoo, or you can try a USB device inside a linux VM - USB passthrough can be a bit sketchy though, I don't know how the OSX virtualization stuff handles it.
I just merged a pull req into git master that fixes master (but not stable) compiling on osx clang. I'm not sure how well it actually behaves once it's compiled, and I haven't finished the new capture engine yet to allow easy rewriting of the osx capture engine, but it's a start!
