Ah I getcha. By having 2 antenna in differences places we can compare the signals and reduce the effects of a bad signal caused by bouncing things around.
Seeing as I'll be using my laptop on an interference noisy industrial boat soon I think I better be prepared to put it back and buy another. At least I know what to expect, thanks for that.
What I also find interesting is that my USB wifi dongle only has one antenna. Didn't think about that when I bought it.
